Flugplatz Oranienburg
Flugplatz Oranienburg was the test center for the famed Horten Ho IX/Horten Ho 229 Flying Wing, the world’s first ever “stealth” bomber, which reached speeds of up to 960 km/h in the summer of 1944.
Allied bombing finished off the armaments factory in April 1945. The Soviets took over after the war and left their mark. Signs of their presence can still be found there today, but you won’t find any traces of the elusive Horten Ho IX.
