Pflegeheim Saalow
Pflegeheim Saalow, or the Maxim-Zetkin-Pflegeheim to give it its full title, was once East Germany’s showcase nursing and retirement home, taking in the elderly, the disabled, and anyone else that regular folks in both Germanies didn’t want to be bothered with.
Intentions may have been good but conditions were horrific and it was eventually closed down some time after the demise of the country it was in.
