The Berlin Wall's escape
There was a sensation in 2018 when local historian Christian Bormann announced he’d found a “lost” section of Berlin Wall that had been forgotten in the commotion of Mauerfall and swallowed up by a bunch of trees to keep its secrets secret from prying eyes. It was a real hullabaloo. Bormann, who had made his discovery in 1999, came to be known as the “Indiana Jones of Pankow.”
