The Wernerbad was Berlin’s first outdoor swimming pool when it opened to the public as such in 1905. It served swimmers well through the DDR days but wasn’t deemed good enough for the new confident Volk after the Berlin Wall came down. Suddenly there were standards. Now people swim elsewhere.
A famous hippo and three perturbed penguins are left to deal with the consequences.
